About Ms. Camp

Throughout her life, Ms. Camp has always had a passion to educate and support children as they learn and grow. She believes a classroom is an excellent place to cultivate a sense of community while also fostering a safe and positive learning environment. Ms. Camp began working with children as a camp counselor many years ago in the Bay Area before moving to Southern California and becoming a Behavior Therapist. She has now transitioned into the wonderful role of Educator and is excited to guide children as they become exemplary scholars. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Social Behavior and has completed her multiple subject credential through Vanguard University of Southern California. She will be pursuing her Master’s of Education in Fall 2022 through Vanguard. Ms. Camp is looking forward to meeting the 2021-2022 scholars and helping them develop a lifelong love for learning!

Teaching Philosophy

Educators fulfill the necessary role to guide children through their educational journey. As a teacher, I believe my purpose is to foster a positive and welcoming classroom environment that will allow my students to thrive. A classroom is a place where students should feel safe as they further develop their mental, physical, emotional, and social growth. My students will have the freedom to express themselves and their ideas free of worry or fear of judgement. I will teach them to embrace and support the differences of others. My class will follow the philosophy of progressivism as we will always aim to be lifelong learners who can enact positive change in society. I will use strategies to ensure my students have been provided with the skills to become caring individuals who appreciate diversity and work towards a more accepting society. I believe it is my job as an educator to provide students with opportunities to explore their interest while also building a solid foundation of knowledge in all subject areas. My students will become strong individuals who have been equipped with the necessary skills to become successful and live a life full of joy.
